Welcome to Once Upon a Room
Once Upon a Room is a national 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides an invaluable service to children in the hospital while fighting serious, life threatening illnesses or acute trauma often resulting in permanent disabilities, months of medical treatment and extended inpatient and outpatient care. Through personalized hospital room decorating and different events and programs, we are able to bring joy to their hospital stay and beyond.
OUR Mission
To enrich the lives of hospitalized children,teens and infants who are fighting serious illnesses and long-term acute trauma.
OUR Actions
To provide personalized hospital room makeovers, in-hospital and outpatient events to promote happiness and healing in the lives of critically ill and extended stay pediatric patients.
OUR Beneficiaries
In addition to hospitalized pediatric patients, our efforts directly benefit their family members and health care professionals. Our room transformations bring hope and smiles to the families and hospital staff who experience stress over long periods of time.
OUR Inspiration
Josie and her sister, Teresa, were head conjoined twins who were separated at 1 years old at UCLA Medical Center. They have lived their lives in and out of the hospital and are the inspiration for Once Upon a Room.
