In February 2023, Once Upon a Room Grand Rapids (OUR-GR) officially launched, offering hospital room makeovers to children undergoing long-term hospitalization. OUR-GR also plans events for patients and their families, and provides support to child life specialists. The aim of OUR-GR is to create a welcoming and comfortable environment for young patients, alleviating some of the stress and discomfort that comes with a hospital stay. By supporting child life specialists, OUR-GR seeks to promote healing and wellness for pediatric patients and their families.
